Shoba’s husband died when she was still young. Traffickers capitalized on the dire situation of the young mother – this landed her in forced prostitution. When it became clear, that she is suffering from the last stages of her HIV-infection -namely Aids – she was set free and allowed to go back to her village to die. Before she did so, she contacted us at Asha and enlisted her daughter Chandana for skills training. It is her strongest whish to keep her young daughter away from the traffickers and thus spare her the horrible life she herself has suffered.
Chandana is on our first batch of trainiees and currently living in a safe place. She has started her six months of computer training and will be in a position to earn a decent living come the second half of 2018.
